Supported Living & Complex Care in Edinburgh

Approved regional visibility for supported living & complex care conversations in Edinburgh.

Supported living in Edinburgh

Edinburgh's commitment to inclusion and community participation makes it an important setting for supported living. At My Health Care Support, we deliver supported living for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs, working closely with the City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, and local housing providers.

We design support around the individual, not the service. Every placement begins with understanding the person — their goals, their preferences, their strengths, and the support they need to live as independently as possible in Scotland's capital.

Our approach is guided by Scotland's Health and Social Care Standards and the Care Inspectorate's expectations, ensuring that every aspect of our supported living provision meets the standards that individuals and families rightly expect.

Person-centred support in practice

Supported living in Edinburgh includes daily living skills development, personal care, community access, health management, social engagement, and tenancy support. For individuals with complex needs, our staff receive specialist training in positive behaviour support, communication strategies, and trauma-informed approaches.

We work alongside NHS Lothian's learning disability services, community health teams, and allied professionals to ensure holistic, clinically informed support. Edinburgh's rich cultural life — its festivals, community groups, libraries, and outdoor spaces — also provides a wonderful backdrop for community integration and meaningful engagement.

Referrals and family partnership

We welcome referrals from social workers, transition teams, and commissioners across Edinburgh. Our process is clear, with named contacts who communicate honestly about timelines, matching, and suitability. We operate within Scotland's commissioning frameworks and understand the particular expectations of Scottish local authorities.

Families are essential partners. We maintain regular communication, invite involvement in care planning and reviews, and recognise that the people who know the individual best bring irreplaceable insight to every decision about their support.
